Nissan has revealed more details of their eye-catching new hatchback concept, the Nissan INVITATION.
Nissan decided to name their new concept the INVITATION owing to its combination of a sensuous, striking exterior and a comfortable, spacious interior.
This concept model is a glimpse of what the production INVITATION might look like.
Nissan expect to launch an INVITATION range for purchase, finance and lease from 2013.
Energetic design
Nissan?s brief to its designers was to create a mainstream hatchback with an innovative, fresh look to it.
As a result, the Nissan INVITATION stands out for its fluid, dynamic lines and sporty aerodynamics.
The central focus of the design is what Nissan call the ?Squash Line?, the distinctive line along the INVITATION?s side.
Confident but not aggressive, the ?Squash Line? flows into the dramatic front and rear bumpers.
Inside, the sleek cabin is spacious and practical, with sculpted seats sporting a single distinctive orange stripe, matching the exterior paint work.
Leads the pack on efficiency
The INVITATION?s combination of Nissan?s lightweight platform, cutting-edge engine technology and stunning aerodynamic design means that it?s best of all its rivals for fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions.
In the production models, Nissan want the most frugal model available to purchase, lease or finance to meet an ultra-low CO2 emissions target of less than 100g/km.
Nissan says that all production models will qualify for their Pure Drive badge for eco-friendly, low emissions cars.
Fun isn?t forgotten either, with Nissan engineering a chassis and powertrain that makes for agile, responsive driving.
Safety first
Nissan have packed some truly impressive safety technology in the concept, and want the production models to lead their segment in terms of safety features.
Aiming to make the car a no-brainer to lease, finance or purchase, advanced safety features include the Nissan Around View Monitor (AVM).
This is the first time that this technology has been used in this type of Nissan.
